Thank you to everyone who showed up to volunteer and race in the Aquathlon today. It was incredibly sucessful and one of the most legit Aquathlons we've put on. It was great to see tricats braving the rain to help out the team! Mike did an awesome job putting that all together, and those who volunteered and actually showed up, or volunteered last minute to fill the gaps did a great job!
Thanks everyone, and congratulations to those who did their first multisport race today!

Today was an awesome experience. I will never again say anything bad about a race director. It is extremely hard to make everything work. The rain messed with my plans a little and caused all of the confusion. This makes me know that next year we can make it so much bigger and better!!! The even cooler thing is that we made a profit!!! I will surprise you all with how much it is tomorrow at the meeting.

BEST AQUATHLON EVER!
When Mike told me about his vision for this race--to make it something on par with the tucson triathlon series races: big, polished, profitable---I said, alright, not fully knowing what to expect or if we'd actually pull it off. But we did! We advertised, we got shirts designed, got race sponsors, hired a professional italian finish line announcer, and most importantly, I think, left a positive impression with the participants so that in the future this race will grow and garner more attention and profit so the team will continue to be recognized as THE triathlon club in tucson.
So, BIG thanks to lil' mikey for following through on his word and orchestrating a great race for the participants and delivering a very nice fundraiser for the team. It speaks volumes to his work commitment and leadership potential. Also, I want to thank the other officers for their support and organization of the event and also all you members that signed up to race, signed up to volunteer, showed up despite the weather and did your jobs. It wasn't easy, but we did it!
PS, we have a few race shirts left over and i'll bring them to the meeting. if you want to buy on, we are charging a low low fee of $10. Don't bother posting dibs, etc. on the forum. Just bring cash/check monday and we'll deal with it then. And if you took a shirt with you from the race bring payment monday.
Have you guys put up the results anywhere? I didn't get a chance to look at them and I heard you say they would be online, but I can't find them......Thanks it was an awesome race!
